Employment Opportunities

“We change people’s lives. We think differently and challenge the status quo in everything we do.”
Dr. J.T. (Tom) Snell, President Columbia College

We are seeking high-energy, dedicated, and sincere team players to help us prepare each adult learner to achieve future success as competent professionals in the workplace.

Every decision we make is made in the long-term, best interest of our students as future working professionals. We believe that only when our students succeed, that we succeed.

As a result of the commitment of each staff and faculty member to each student, Columbia’s graduates have consistently achieved some of the best outcomes of any college or university in Canada. We are extremely proud of this and want to attract additional team members who are passionate about helping each student achieve even greater success.

Volunteer Opportunities

Do you like helping others?
Do you want to make an impact in the lives of newcomers and immigrants?

Become a volunteer for The Columbia Learning Society at Columbia College! You will meet English language learners from various cultures and backgrounds, and you can help them gain the language and foundational skills they need to become active members of our vibrant community.

Volunteers play an important role in providing extra support for language learners in their classes. Without volunteers, the learners may not be able to get as much individual support in their learning. As volunteers, you will assist with language learning tasks as assigned by the class facilitators. These tasks may include reading comprehension, conversation practice, and basic computer skills.

Interested volunteers should have strong communication skills, clear speech, a good understanding of English grammar and Canadian culture, and sensitivity to other cultures. You should also be available for a minimum of 2 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

To apply or learn more about the volunteer opportunities and requirements, contact Jocelyne Yip at jocelyney@columbia.ab.ca. or 403-235-9300, Ext. 342.
